A new study has found that a type of sugar found in tequila can actually help people lose weight.
Although sugar is pure satan food at the moment, this is apparently a special type of natural sugar called agavins from the agave plant (not to be confused with the sugar in agave syrup - these are entirely different).
This special sugar is non-digestible and doesn't raise blood sugar levels, say Mexican researchers.
Tests found that consuming agavins meant a lower appetite and lower blood glucose (admittedly, this test was carried out on mice. Very drunk mice.)
The study presented at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (or ACS at parties) says the findings could have huge implications for people who are obese or have type 2 diabetes.
It just gives us an excuse to play this...
