Perhaps you're reading this at your desk and thinking about reaching for another little biscuit, so small that it almost doesn't exist.
You know it will provide a short, sharp burst of sugar to get you through the day and you long for the illicit sweet taste in your, by now, watering mouth.
Well, think again. A recent survey has revealed that eating unhealthy snacks at your desk makes you pile on almost half a stone a year.
On average, we eat at least two snacks a day, with 30 per cent of us tucking into three or more. Women admit to eating more than men, with a further 13 per cent of ladies scoffing four or more snacks a day.
But don't despair. We're not here to tell you to quit elevenses or stop afternoon treats. In fact, many experts advocate snacking on the basis that it stops bingeing, helps keep blood sugar levels stable and wards off cravings, all assisting you to stick to healthy eating habits at mealtimes.
Instead, we're here to help you snack smart.
