A new study by the University of California, San Diego, found that people who regularly ate small amounts of chocolate had a higher metabolism, which offsets the extra calories eaten.
Dr. Golomb from the university surveyed 1,018 men and women aged 20 to 85 years old about their weekly food intake. Those who indulged more frequently had lower BMIs and did not report exercising more than their calorie-conscious counterparts.
Unfortunately, buzz kill Dr. Golomb has clarified the study saying "that does not mean you can eat unbounded amounts of chocolate." We'll be the judge of that.
