Yes we all thought the tyranny of the cronut, duffin, ramen pizza and mac 'n' cheese burger had ended – but no. Seems things were just getting started – now the big boys are here to play.
Introducing the Krispy Kreme triple cheeseburger.
That is three beef patties, American cheese slices (nectar of the gods) sandwiched between two classic glazed doughnuts.
This cardiovascular delight was on offer at the San Diego County Fair, and brought to our attention by the good people at Just-eat.co.uk.
Obviously we know this is bad for you, but how bad?
We turned to our trusty MyFitnessPal app for some advice.
- A glazed Krispy Kreme: 220 calories and 13g fat x 2 = 440 calories 26g fat
- Beef patties: 310 calories, 26g fat each x 3 = 930 calories, 78g fat
- American cheese slice: 70 calories, 5g fat each x 3 = 210 calories, 15g fat
So that would be nearly all your daily calorie intake in one meal (although not sure you'd need to at again after this) and 49g more than your maximum daily fat intake should be (70g for the average woman).
Admit it though, you still would.
