Miley Cyrus is more than happy being naked. So why aren't we?

Whatever you think about Miley Cyrus getting naked all the time, give the girl her dues, she is comfortable in her skin.

We're not talking about the prostitution of female singers by the record labels debate, we want to know how people like Miley can writhe around naked on a wrecking ball and we're still doing the put-your-bra-on-over-your-towel move at the gym.

Speaking in an interview for You magazine, the former Hannah Montana star said, "I'm very confident being naked…I feel that stripping off is a way of expressing purity of emotion."

We'll sidestep that bit about emotion, and instead here's a list of ways to boost body confidence:

Write it down


Think about how a friend would describe what you look like and write it down. They wouldn't just write 'fat thighs, fat thighs, fat thighs' now would they? They'd be complimentary and notice your whittled waist and pretty eyes.

Stop fat shaming


Women love to fat bash. 'Oh I hate my tummy', 'oh no, I hate my massive bum,' and so the back and forth begins. But this is damaging and just makes everyone feel rotten. Shut it down. Shift your conversations to how incredibly talented you are as a woman.

Focus on your good bits


Do you have tunnel vision when it comes to your stomach? But we bet while you were giving your tummy stink eye, you didn't notice how great your arms look.

Get some exercise


No, we don't mean you need to lose weight (silly) - but people who regularly exercise have better body confidence. Not only will you get a nice mental boost, but scientists reckon people who work out are more in tune with their bodies.

Boost your body image


Would you say these horrible and negative things to your best friend or mum? Then why would you say them to yourself. You're worth more than that.

Spend some time on pampering


We all feel better when we make some effort to look after ourselves. Do your hair, get some beauty sleep, paint your nails, generally feel awesome.

Love your skin


We are all different and unique. Embrace what makes you an individual and remember, even Miranda Kerr's not perfect. And if all else fails - turn this up loud:
