5 Ways to achieve a bikini body (without dieting or exercise)

If diets and exercise leave you in running for the hills (well walking probably) then we've got a few ways to get you closer to that bikini body with minimal effort.

If you can't bear the thought of eating bland, carb-free food this spring, and have a phobia of the plank challenge, fear not, you can make small changes to help you get bikini ready without even trying.

1. Ditch the coffee and tea


Who really likes those skinny lattes anyway? When you drink tea or coffee you're more than likely to have milk, which can be fattening (it all adds up).

Start drinking green tea or better yet green juice.

Green tea is antioxidant rich with the added benefit of speeding up your metabolism and breaking down sugars whilst burning hundreds more calories a week.

Drink it cold or hot and aim for 3-4 cups a day.

2. Use public transportation or walk


It's time to start using our legs as nature intended. It's all too easy to be hop in your car and go from A to B in a flash with minimal effort.

Unless its necessary, try to use public transport or cycle to work instead.

This will maximise your chances of walking and climbing the thigh-toning stairs.

3. Make your own lunch and dinners


Take-away should be a treat and not something you indulge in all the time. Put your chef hat on and try some new recipes.

It's always a good idea to spend a couple of hours on the weekend prepping breakfasts, lunches and dinners so that you can freeze them and store them away for the week. Your purse will thank you too!

P.S. This shouldn't mean you're stuck eating bowls of steamed vegetables for the week - keep it interesting or you'll be back in Pret before you know it.

4.Get enough sleep


Studies show that those who are well rested are more likely to make wiser food choices during the day.

Sleep deprived people consume 300 calories more a week than those who are well rested.

If that isn't a good enough excuse to go to catch up on some zzz's, we don't know what is!

5.Be weary when you eat with friends


Friends can encourage you to make the wrong decision about food and alcohol (which is packed full of calories).

This can be especially apparent at work.

How many time has the 'office feeder' brought a box of doughnuts for everyone in the office to enjoy or offered you chocolate?

Be wise in your acceptance of these daily treats and ask yourself if you really want them.
