Scientists have discovered just five teaspoons of sugar daily can cause lasting damage and may be worse for you than fat. Uh oh.

If you're reliant on biscuits, sweet tea and cake to perk you up throughout the day, you might be suffering from a sugar addiction.

In reality, there's nothing to love about refined and highly processed sugar. It makes us gain weight, increases the size of our liver and makes us feel tired.

In fact, new findings by the World Health Organisation is urging people to cut their sugar intake to only six teaspoons a day, after suggesting sugar could do more damage to our bodies than fat and tobacco.

To put this in perspective, one can of coca-cola contains nine teaspoons.
