What is an RSS feed?
An RSS feed is simply a file that contains a website's latest content updates. It allows you to see a stream of articles and be notified when new ones are added. Sometimes, websites allow you to set up seperate feeds for specific topics too.
How do I use RSS feeds?
To start using feeds, the first thing you need is a feed reader. There are two types of reader. web-based readers and downloadable
applications. Web-based readers are similar to using a web-based email service. like hotmail or gmail. you can check your feeds from any
computer. Downloadable readers are similar to using Outlook, so it is installed on you computer and you can only check your feeds on
that computer.
Some popular news readers...
Web-based:

What next?
Now that you have a news reader, you can choose which sites, and which content you would like to be kept informed about. Most sites will
have the little orange button next to content that can be used as an RSS feed.
You need to click on the orange button, then there are 2 ways to set up the feed:
1. dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader or
2. cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader
Now you're all set up to go and can add whatever RSS feeds you like from all of your favourite sites!
