Would you ever use household items as contraception?

We've all been there - you're in the heat of the moment, and you haven't got a condom. Maybe you're not on any other contraception, and your mind desperately searches for a solution to your bedroom condundrum.

A new survey has revealed that those lust-crazed thoughts actually do become a reality for some - with some Brits using anything from clingfilm to (and we wince when we say this) Mars bar wrappers as makeshift protection.

According to data researchers Opinion Health, a range of kitchen cupboard items were put forward as possible contraception alternatives by those polled - Coca-cola, kebabs, chocolate bars or wrappers, crisp packets, chewing gum, eating garlic or using bread, cling film or even chicken skin as a barrier method were all mentioned.

Britain currently has one of the highest rates of unplanned pregancy in Europe, with 50% of births being unintended.

What do you think? Have you ever used any of the 'alternative' forms of contraception mentioned above in the heat of the moment?
