Should Kandy Rain have been voted off the X Factor?

The first live show has been and gone, and the first casualty of the public vote has been given the chance to cry on stage in front of millions of viewers - and, of course, vow that this isn't the end for their musical career. Ex-strippers Kandy Rain were the first act to be booted off the X Factor, after being put up against Rachel Adedeji in a live sing-off.

Their version of Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love in the first Saturday live show obviously didn't hit the right note with viewers - and Dannii and Cheryl both voted to get rid of the provocative four-piece when they'd heard the final performances, whereas Simon decided to give them another chance by voting for Rachel to go home. Louis Walsh was absent from the Sunday night show due to the sudden death of Boyzone's Stephen Gately, who he managed during the '90s, but it was understood that he would vote to keep his groups category in the competition - bringing in the first deadlock situation of the series.

in the end, it came down to the number of public votes cast - and Rachel just managed to pip the Kandy Rain girls to the post. But did she deserve to?

What do you think - should Kandy Rain have been booted off?
