A London fertility clinic is offering fertility treatment and donated eggs in a raffle in an effort to raise publicity for a seminar it is holding this week.
The Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) provides women with eggs from donors who are profiled by racial background, health, upbringing and education, and the raffle prize, which involves both a donated egg from an American donor and treatment in the US, is worth over £13,000.
Receiving payment for egg donation is currently illegal in the UK, but in the US, health women with a college education can expect to earn up to $10,000 a time for their eggs, especially if they are good-looking. Smokers and overweight women are barred from donating eggs in most cases.
The GIVF has linked up with the London-based fertility clinic the Bridge Centre, who are offering the chance to win the treatment to promote a seminar for potential patients in London this Wednesday.
