Is Kate Winslet right to defend her working class roots?

Kate Winslet has defended her working class roots after becoming annoyed at constantly being labelled 'middle class'.

The Oscar-winning actress, whose dad was a postman and odd-job man, says people judge her because of her well-spoken voice.

What do you think? Does class matter to you?

Does what class you are born in to still play a major part in how your life will turn out, or do we now live in a world where anyone can achieve they want to, regardless of their background and upbringing?

Were you surprised that Kate Winslet is from a working class background? Are we too quick to judge people based on their accent or their appearance?
