Rapper Chris Brown has released a public apology after being found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year.
The pop singer was left with a bruised and swollen face after being assaulted by Brown before a pre-Grammy awards party in LA. Brown, who was given five year's probation and six month's community service after pleading guilty to the attack, posted a video on his official website, telling fans and Rihanna that he was 'truly, truly sorry' for the incident.
"What I did was unacceptable - 100%. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me," said Brown in the two minute clip. He also told fans that he had grown up with domestic violence. He said, “I saw firsthand what uncontrolled rage can do. I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occurred in February can never happen again.”
