When you sit down with the family to eat the festive feast do you ever consider how much time, energy and money has gone into the whole affair?
Well supermarket chain Asda has and they've discovered that the average Brit polishes off Turkey, all the trimmings and a huge helping of Christmas pudding in just 30 minutes and 44 seconds.
Wow, we didn't know this was a speed eating competition.
Now we don't want to argue with the statistics, but 30 minutes?!
We spend at least 45 pulling the crackers, reading the rubbish jokes and fighting over the pink party hat.
Added to this is the three hours and 30 minutes that we spend shopping for the food and the 42 minutes we spend preparing and cooking the meal (we assume this excludes the actual cooking time).
So that's roughly four hours and 45 minutes spent on one meal. Oh well, it is one of the best spreads of the year.
