High street heroes Warehouse have released the pictures of their new autumn/winter 2011 collection, and its safe to say we are big fans here at Handbag Towers. Warehouse are consistently offering great pieces every season; their fantastic cocktail dresses, tailoring and catwalk-style blouses are always a high point.
As well as covering off the continuing 70s trend and the shift towards 60s shapes (A-line wool dresses, double breasted coats, fluffy cropped jumpers), Warehouse have pulled out all the stops for the Mod look which is the hottest look for autumn this year. Sharp lines and strong shapes dominate the collection, with super skinny cropped trousers and exaggerated shoulders on jackets. Details like leather lapels, leopard print and flashes of red are A/W11 essentials. There are touches of rock nroll and two tone in the styling; a dramatic change from the floaty maxi skirts of summer. Its a very androgynous look not for the über girly amongst us, this is one for the tomboys. We cannot wait for these pieces to land in store (any time over the next few weeks). Forget summer, all we can think about now is our awesome autumn wardrobes!
