Lady Gaga collaborates with Thierry Mugler
Shes already lending her musical talents to friend and stylist Nicola Formichettis debut menswear show for Thierry Mugler, and now its been revealed that Lady Gaga is set to have an even bigger role in the creation of his first womenswear collection to debut on 1 March during Paris Fashion Week.
Formichetti, Gagas London-based stylist and new creative director of Mugler (formerly Thierry Mugler), has revealed how hes working closely with the outlandish singer on the fashion houses upcoming womenswear collection, even though theres no official collaboration.
Its me and her just having fun and getting very inspired by the idea of Mugler, he told WWD. Shes very much involved, more in the early stages, he added.
Formichetti recently confirmed that Gaga will be the musical director of his first menswear show, taking place tonight during Menswear Fashion Week in Paris, which will use a musical soundtrack based on a previously unheard track from the singers eagerly anticipated new album, Born This Way.
When I heard it, I said, Thats Mugler. Shes remixing it especially for the show, Formichetti explains. Its very, very hard, but pop at the same time. Its really amazing.
And Formichetti, who has also created custom-made Mugler costumes for the pop stars album artwork, videos and live performances ahead of the albums release on 23 May, has even more treats in store for his and Gagas fans. A video of visuals and sound from the unveiling of his debut menswear collection for Mugler will be streamed tomorrow at 6pm via the label's website, so you can take a look (and a listen) for yourself.
I want to make sure her fans have a front row seat, he said.
Cant wait.
