Emma Watsons new eco fashion venture
From sauntering down the red carpet in gorgeous dresses to promote the impending release of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 to sporting her fresh pixie crop while studying at Brown University in the States, Emma Watson is everywhere at the moment.
And heres some more Emma Watson news for you: the 20-year-old actress is set to launch a new ethical fashion line with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti.
Watson first delved into fashion design with an organic and fair-trade capsule collection for British brand People Tree last year, which was a huge success (I personally loved the cute cable knit jumpers and the Breton striped summer dresses). And it seems that Ferretti, famous for her romantic evening gowns, was a huge fan of the collection too.
She [Ferretti] wrote to me and said I saw what you did with People Tree and I think its a great idea and will you do something with me? Watson told Us Magazine. I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair-trade and organic.
She also revealed that the collection, which is set to launch early next year, will be very classic, very 60s and inspired by British style icon Jane Birkin.
I made a quick call to the Alberta Ferretti press office to try and find out more, but they are staying tight-lipped for now, saying we cant give you any other information at the moment other than to say its a very exciting project.
