Mademoiselle Lively bags Chanel deal
With her stellar red carpet moments, her appearance on numerous best dressed lists and her much admired All-American looks, it was only a matter of time before Blake Lively, Anna Wintour’s girl of the moment and Gossip Girl star, bagged herself a fashion campaign as the face of the Mademoiselle handbag line. The US Vogue editor introduced Lively to Karl Lagerfeld during the July couture shows in Paris so it is a possibility the Wintour connection may have had a tiny weeny hand (Not very much of course. I mean she is only the most powerful woman in fashion) in influencing the coup. Well whatever the case, hats off to Blake. Why waste time climbing the fashion ladder when you can head straight to the top?
To have a peek at the hotly anticipated campaign shots - taken at Chanel’s Rue du Cambon headquarters with Karl Lagerfeld himself at the helm of the camera - you’ll have to wait till April. The 23 year old actress is in great company as she joins an eclectic line up of past and present Chanel ‘muses’ including Lily Allen, Vanessa Paradis, Anna Mouglalis and Diane Kruger. However, it looks like 2011 is going to be very much a Lively year.
