ASOS launches The Marketplace Collective

Ever wished that you could own items from the wardrobe of a top fashion magazine editor? Well, now you can, thanks to ASOS’ Marketplace.

From Friday 18 February, visitors to ASOS’ new temporary designer e-boutique, The Marketplace Collective, will be able to buy items donated by a clutch of stylish fashion editors and industry insiders.

Harper’s Bazaar’s Vanessa Coyle has parted with a cropped wool jacket by Balenciaga, a pink tweed skirt by Chanel and some Roberto Cavalli ankle boots. Style Bubble blogger Susie Lau has donated a grey Preen dress and some silver lamé trousers by Dolce & Gabbana, and Grazia’s Melanie Rickey is selling some Christian Louboutin slingback heels, an Acne dress and a pair of skinny jeans by J Brand. Other items up for grabs include a Martin Margiela trench coat, Beau Coops boots and an Oroton handbag donated by fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell.

What’s more, all pieces will appear on the site - which launches this week to coincide with the start of London Fashion Week - photographed on their original owners to give shoppers some tips on how to style the garment. Prices start at £20 for a dress with a percentage of profits going to charity through the ASOS foundation.

Not to be missed.

The Marketplace Collective runs from 18 to 23 February on ASOS.
