Marc Jacobs new venture
Not content with having two hugely successful and lusted after fashion lines in his own name, heading up luxury French label Louis Vuitton as creative director and being an A-list celebrity is his own right, fashion designer extraordinaire Marc Jacobs has opened his first bookshop.
The New York store, called Bookmarc (see what he did there?), is nestled on the Big Apples hip Bleecker Street and takes the number of Marc Jacobs shops in the citys West Village up to six, with four on Bleecker Street alone.
If youre planning a trip to NYC and fancy owning a slice of MJ goodness but want to stay on a budget, then why not snap up a little something from Bookmarc while youre there. Unsurprisingly, the shop isnt your regular bookstore and will focus on selling art and photography books, so you wont find any Dan Brown bumper best-sellers or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo here. The shop will also stock vinyl records, CDS and stationery including cute coloured pencil sets, notebooks and customised Bookmarc pens.
Next time I cross the pond, Ill definitely pay a visit. Will you?
