LFW - Fashion Ed's outfit, day 1
Much as I would like to look like one of those coolly elegant fashion editors you see striding around on street style blogs clutching a Blackberry and a miniscule handbag, in reality I still belong in spirit to the jobbing journalists who have to jump on and off buses and tubes, lugging a huge heavy bag crammed with camera, flat shoes, invites, book (to alleviate boredom in between shows) and all sorts of other ‘essentials’. So my London Fashion Week uniform usually consists of a dress or skirt, tights and boots or brogues.
This coat is from Uniqlo – it’s a cashmere blend which means it’s incredibly light, but still amazingly warm (unfortunately, too warm for September, but I’m still stubbornly wearing it). I love the full trapeze shape and the way the fabric swings, as well as the sweet princess collar.
Underneath is a dark green skater skirt from COS – one of my high street heroes – and a trusty old navy poloneck jumper from – you guessed it – Uniqlo. Pink tights and my new Benetton boots, plus my all-time favourite bag, the Parker from Luella – and I’m ready for Day 1 at LFW...
