Not since the teenager emerged in the \'50s to rock around the clock has there been an adolescent phenomenon quite like this. The upshot of a broadband-connected sub-culture obsessed with Facebook, Beebo and online fashion forums (such as handbag.com\'s), trend-conscious adolescents around the globe are becoming a force to be reckoned with. Spearheaded by It-Girl Peaches Geldof in the UK, whose idiosyncratic style gets the paps heated up wherever she goes, and reflected in the US by Jay-Z protegée Rihanna, who topped the charts with the anthemic \'Umbrella\', youngsters everywhere are proving that they are where the money is right now.

Already a successful pop star with a several hits under her belt - notably 2005\'s \'Pon de Replay\' - and now managed by Jay-Z\'s Def Jam, the 19-year-old former beauty-pageant winner - who was discovered at the age of 15 in her native Barbados - has come a long way in an extremely short space of time. Now, with three albums under her belt, including this year\'s \'Good Girl Gone Bad\', and endorsements with Nike and Clinique among other brands, Rihanna is set to go stratospheric (her legs were reportedly insured for a million dollars, after Gillette named her 2007 Venus Breeze \'Celebrity Legs of a Goddess\'). Style-wise, expect more bling and sexy, body-baring numbers, with designers falling over each other to dress her for her many red carpet appearances. Not bad for a \'bad\' girl

Daughter of designer Pearl Lowe, 17-year-old Daisy was all over the gossip pages when it was revealed that Gavin Rossdale, aka Mr Gwen Stefani and fellow Primrose Hill resident, was her father. Still, if recent activities are anything to go by, Miss Lowe is all set to outstrip parental associations by becoming a bona fide It Girl and fashion fixture.
