Glastonbury the great

The original and the greatest, Glastonbury is the festival to end all festivals, but boy when it’s wet, it’s wet. Despite an explosion of similarly hippy-inspired events in recent years, Glasto retains a soft spot in music aficionados’ hearts, and its unique ‘anything goes’ vibe, whether its dancing to Kylie on the Pyramid stage or lying semi-naked in the Green Fields while bongs thrum.

When planning for Glastonbury, wellies should be the first consideration – then build upwards from your toes. The weekend, especially if it rains, does require camping-savvy garb but make sure you inject plenty of fun for all the dress-up opportunities; a prom dress is a must for impromptu tea dances in the field, as is fun fur for a dose of glamour (or just plain silliness).

We say pack a glamorous waterproof to keep dry till you’re back in your tent – and then hope that the sun shines anyway!
