All white on the night...
Forget the LBD, it’s all about the Little White Dress this summer. Kate Middleton et al aside, the LWD is the perfect way to make a summer style statement, and if you get the right shape, it certainly doesn’t have to scream ‘bride’ or, worse, ‘first holy communion’.
White is a perennial summer favourite, and this year is no exception. Designers from Chloé to Givenchy were rocking the trend. The high street have followed suit, with an impressive range of white frocks, from the one-shouldered Grecian maxi at New Look, to the lacy shift dresses found everywhere from Chelsea Girl to Banana Republic.
The beauty of the LWD is that once you’ve found your perfect style, it’s relatively easy to wear. Just team with chestnut and gold accessories, keep hair and make-up minimalist (a tan helps, obviously), and try not to stand next to any big bouquets of flowers and you’ll be fine.
