Pixie Geldof
By Danielle Radojcin
From its not-so-humble beginnings on the first-ever bikini in 1946, to its immortalisation in the song \'Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini\', the polka dot has rarely been off the fashion radar. Suffering something of an image problem during the 80s and 90s, when Sloane Rangers favoured them on their ribboned hair slides, the print all but disappeared, only to be gloriously resurrected by teenage clubbers like Pixie Geldof (who wears her polka dot shorts over white leggings), or actress Bai Ling, who punks up her chiffon two piece with a blunt fringe and a pair of headphones. Seen on the catwalks at both Louis Vuitton and Richard Nicoll, this summer we\'re going dotty for polka dots all over again.
