Thankfully, shapewear has come a very long way since the days of Bridget Jones’ knickers. There is a wealth of great lingerie available that can help hold everything in when you want to look extra svelte, but also looks pretty enough that you don’t have to dive into the bathroom to change when you have company later! Whether you want smoother thighs, a flatter tummy or a nipped in waist, here is our round up of the best pieces to wear under that all-important party dress.
The product: This Ann Summers cami is designed to give full control by boosting the bust, cinching the waist and flattering the bum. It features black mesh panels and silver and black lace as well as detachable straps and suspenders, if you wanted to go for the full vintage ensemble.
Our review: This control cami is very pretty and definitely the most attractive of all the shapewear we tried, while still being functional; the mesh feels like it would hold everything in place! However, we all had trouble with the sizing. The cami is sold by cup size, which isn’t ideal – someone could be a 32DD and a size 8, while someone else could have the same bust size but be a size 12. If you want to purchase this, we strongly advise you go and try it on first!
