Sofia Coppola has recently been doing what she does best: making movies. Don't get too excited however, as her latest project, Somewhere, has a release date of December 2010 in the US and an unspecified one for here in the UK. It stars Stephen Dorff as a washed-up Hollywood actor whose 11-year-old daughter, played by Elle Fanning (Dakota's younger sister), brings him back from the brink of loser-dom. Still, we have no doubt it will be worth the wait.
Sofia's personal style is almost as revered as her cinematic kind. Despite being an all-American girl, she possesses that seemingly unobtainable, simple and chic aesthetic affiliated with the French (the French connection doesn't end there - she has a Gallic husband, Thomas Mars, who is the lead singer of Phoenix and the father of her two daughters Romy and Cosima). Sofia's fashion credentials have never been in any doubt; she interned at Chanel when she was 15, later became a Marc Jacobs poster girl and muse, and has collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a range of holdall bags, clutches and shoes.
