The blue notes of summer
"My inspiration for the new Idol collection, ‘True Romance’, comes from the feeling you get when you know spring is turning into summer," explains Donovan Pascal, design director of Idol. "I played with marble prints, stripes and colour-blocking to create soft and easy pieces that still have a rebellious attitude. There’s something for the girly girls and the edgy girls."
There sure is something for everyone, and we like. Available exclusively at New Look, Idol is an under-the-radar high street success; you might know it for its rock ’n’ roll-tinged jerseys and T-shirts. We are loving the Mod-meets-‘80s influence of this season’s collection, the patriotic blue and red hues, and the attitude-y campaign featuring twin New Jersey models Ann and Kirby Kenny. Our favourite piece is the diagonal striped skater dress – followed closely by the ‘60s innocence of the candy-stripe cami top - what’s yours?
