Legendary London department store has joined forces with the cult cartoon character Hello Kitty to create a range of products, and while we wouldnt necessarily expect a mash-up of classic English heritage and an iconic Japanese cat to work, but strangely, it really does! The prints include Karenkubo, an adaptation of a floral from 1933; Kitty Town, featuring all Kitty's family and friends in the setting of a quaint English village; Kitty Wonderland, Hello Kitty's fantasy world with all her favourite toys; Music Festival, which features Kitty playing musical instruments and Apple Tree, a design produced in 1934 featuring one of Kitty's favourite foods! Apple Tree is used on the tote bag and purse pictured, as well as in the bow Kitty is wearing on the cover of the stationary tin.
We really like the fact that Liberty have branched out with a collaboration totally out of the realms of the usual high fashion they deal with, although we really dont need another excuse to visit one of our favourite London shopping destinations!
The Hello Kitty Liberty Art Fabrics luxury product range launched this Monday and will be available for two weeks, exclusively at Liberty.
