Medieval clutch, £595 at Burberry
Punk and Burberry are two words I thought I'd never say in the same sentence. But the only way I can sum up the autumn/winter Burberry look is just that: Punk. Well, punk meets medieval to be exact.
Christopher Bailey's ongoing (genius) reinvention of this quintessentially English brand means that season in and season out there is always a surprise in store. As you can tell from the bag in question, with its edgy pyramid studs and black as night leather, Burberry is going through a harder, more aggressive phase than seen previously.
Fans of Burberry's new punky edge include Sienna Miller and Diane Kruger. Both are inseparable from their studded sandal platforms that have spawned many a copy cat on the highstreet, confirmation that the Burberry aesthetic couldn't be any more in demand right now. The current advertising campaign confirms the brand's cool credentials with Agynes Deyn, It-girl and recently named model of the year, as its face and punked up cover girl.
