Selfridges’ Alexander Wang exclusive
Selfridges launches a new denim and contemporary brands department, including an Alexander Wang boutique.
Alexander Wang may be just about the trendiest designer in the world right now - and the London branch of Selfridges have got him on an exclusive. The New York-based designer, whose clothes are favoured by the likes of Erin Wasson (who recently launched her Erin Wasson x RVCA line in the store) and Lindsay Lohan, has designed four exclusive pieces to sit inside the Alexander Wang boutique, which forms part of Selfridges new denim and contemporary section, 3rd Central, along with ready to wear, shoes and accessories by the designer.
Other brands featured in the new Selfridges concept include Marc By Marc Jacobs, Maje, Preen Line and Chloe Sevigny For Opening Ceremony.
According to Anita Barr, Selfridges' director of womenswear, "3rd Central will bring together denim and contemporary fashion to create an exciting and authoritative brand edit. Our aim with the new space is to bring energy and excitement to the third floor of the store and to create a real shopping destination. 3rd Central will have something for every shopper - from the perfect fit jeans to contemporary go-to labels, young British talent and the latest US fashion imports."
The so-called denim wall will showcase in-demand brands like CRAFT (look out for their biker jeans, already on every fashion editor's wish list) Superfine and Kate Moss favourite J Brand, with luxury basic lines such as Alexander Wang Tees and L'Agence sitting alongside. A schedule of fashion activities to celebrate the launch has been planned to run throughout the season, including an Ashish trunk show on 19 September where customers can order looks directly from London Fashion Week.
