Preen launches diffusion line
The hot British duo's latest recession-friendly project. By Fiona Raisbeck.
The husband and wife design duo behind one of Britain's hippest labels, Preen, have launched a diffusion line.
Inspired by the 1969 classic American road movie Easy Rider, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's new range, Preen Line, will feature the brand's signature figure-hugging dresses, sculpted jersey tops and perfectly cut trousers, as well as super-soft t-shirts, all at a fraction of the price of their main line. Shoppers can expect to pay around £89 for a t-shirt and up to £255 for a dress. Stand-out pieces from the line include a romantic, ruffled frock in blush pink and a wallet-friendly version of the body-con Power dress from the Preen spring/summer 2007 collection, as seen on everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Amy Winehouse.
Justin Thornton said of the range: "Imagine it as a complete weekend wardrobe for the Preen woman." This is a busy time for the couple, who had their first child five months ago; they also plan to launch an accessories range later this spring.
Preen Line is available now from net-a-porter and Selfridges.
