Victoria Beckham is turning in to a fashion power house. Following yesterday's unveiling in New York of her latest advertising campaign for Emporio Armani underwear - her second for the label; shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott - it was announced she has signed a contract with eyewear company Cutler And Gross, which will take over the manufacturing of her eponymous sunglasses line. They will be available to buy from September 2009.
Furthermore, her denim label, which encountered some difficulties when it was first launched, will be brought in-house, with production based in London. This mirrors the strategy for her clothing label, which has been garnering positive reviews since it was launched last year.
Yesterday's appearance at Macy's Herald Square to unveil the 20-foot banner of the new Emporio campaign followed her appearance on Monday night at the Met's Costume Institute Gala in New York, where she wore a polka dot mini dress by Marc Jacobs with Louis Vuitton heels. Seems like her days of pop music are well and truly behind her.
