A whole host of fashion's most fabulous designers, models and stars joined net-a-porter.com on Wednesday night to raise a toast to the luxury e-boutique's first 10 years in fashion.
Guests, including Victoria Beckham, Henry Holland, Julien MacDonald and Laura Baily, enjoyed champagne and canapés at the web-based store's slick new offices above London's Westfield Centre. The stars of the fashion set were treated to their own personal photoshoot amongst net-a-porter.com's signature black packaging and recorded congratulatory birthday messages recalling their first ever purchases. Victoria Beckham (whose designs are also sold by the site), in a white and blue Miu Miu minidress and nude Brian Atwood heels had a memory lapse, saying: "I've bought so much stuff from net-a-porter.com over the years I can't even remember my first purchase!"
Many believe net-a-porter.com's launch 10 years ago revolutionised the ready-to-wear designer market, by becoming one of the first websites to sell designer fashion. The company was sold earlier this year for £350m, with founder Natalie Massenet bagging close to £50m herself. She apologised to husbands at the party for "the pain suffered by watching their credit card bills increase" and thanked the fashion industry for its support.
