Following on from the success of her GapKids range, Stella McCartney has announced plans to launch her fist childrenswear collection under her namesake label.
Stella McCartney Kids will launch globally on 3 November 2010 on its own dedicated website, stellamccartneykids.com, which will speedily ship to 200 countries around the world.
The capsule collection will feature cute clothes for both girls and boys aged 0 to 12 years think floral print dresses, red pea coats, striped tops and bright yellow wellies (for girls), and jeans, quilted coats, snug knits and drummer boy jackets (for boys).
As a brand with many working parents in the team, I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable, McCartney said. I feel like all the timeless childrenswear is reserved for the expensive brands and that did not sit well with me. Kids, parents, aunts, uncles and friends should all be able to have access to Stella McCartney Kids clothes. We have tried to make that possible in this first collection, and hope it is enjoyed.
The Stella McCartney Kids website will also boast lots of fun interactive features including a so-called playground section which allows parents and children to chat to one another on the site.
The collection, with prices starting from £15, will also be stocked at Stella McCartney stores including those in London, New York, Paris, Milan and Tokyo, to name a few.
