It's a case of a double birthday, with the announcement by The British Council (BFC), this year celebrating its 25th anniversary, that Pringle of Scotland, itself playing host to its 195th year, will show its womenswear in London for the spring/summer 2010 shows next September. The move follows that of Burberry, also relocation from Milan for one season, and Matthew Williamson, who normally shows in New York.
Pringle's creative director, Clare Waight Keller, said, "As a British brand it is definitely an idea we've toyed with before, but this year provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate our British heritage and honour the BFC."
