It may have decidedly Italian DNA, but Miu Miu is celebrating London fashion in style this season with the launch of a five-piece capsule collection of one-off pieces exclusive to the capital.
Unveiled at the label's New Bond Street store in London yesterday, the collection features four dresses and one top as an extension of its spring/summer 2010 offering, which memorably featured gorgeous vintage prints of swallows, puppies, naked women and the like overlaid with waterfall jewels and oversized pailette sequins. Each piece in the extended collection is equally lustworthy, if not more so, having been hand made using couture techniques and coming in a limited run of, well, one.
Ms Prada has created individual capsules for each of the fashion capitals - New York, London, Milan and Paris - to kick off the autumn/winter 2010 season, but we can't help being biased and feeling that London's offering of sheer nude sheathes dripping with embellishment and silk collared blouses is our favourite.
The best part? As much as they look like museum pieces, they're all available to buy now. To own your own slip of fashion history, simply call into the Miu Miu boutique at 123 New Bond Street, London W1S 1DU or call 020 7409 0900 for more information.
