Its here! We can hardly contain our excitement, because the much-anticipated Marc Jacobs e-commerce site has finally launched.
The new e-boutique is a visual treat, mixing illustrations with photos and video footage from Marc Jacobs catwalk shows, and jam-packed with fun interactive features. A standard e-commerce experience this is not.
To begin with the site will sell a select number of items handpicked by Jacobs and the firms president, Robert Duffy, and will offer the best of the brands womenswear, childrenswear, accessories and perfume all just a click of a mouse away.
The homepage is designed like a cartoon version of the front of a Marc Jacobs boutique, which you enter and illustrated shop assistants dressed head-to-toe in Marc Jacobs entice you to browse the virtual accessories, sunglasses or perfume counters.
To take a peek at the Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs ready-to-wear collections, you click on the board next to the lift doors to take you to your preferred destination, where photos of the items hang on imaginary clothes rails.
The transactional site also sells childrenswear, with the Little Marc Jacobs range presented in a virtual playroom, complete with penguin cuddly toys and model aeroplanes.
Whats more, the site also boasts a news and gossip section full of titbits of Marc Jacobs-related info, an Employees of the Moment video tribute plus an online flipbook of personal photographs taken by the Marc Jacobs team on their travels.
Go on, take a look.
