Marc Jacobs has never made any secret of his desire to become a small screen legend and it looks like the opportunity has finally arisen. The New York press today reports that the designer will participate in an upcoming TV show billed as the Gay Housewives of New York City.
Provisionally entitled Kept, the show - by all-gay network Logo, which is owned by MTV - will document the lives and loves of New York's openly gay, super rich playboys, following the format of the smash hit The Real Housewives Of... series.
While Jacobs' involvement is yet to be confirmed, he certainly fits the bill, in terms of his lifestyle and attitude. His very public romance with Lorenzo Martone has fashion fans entranced, and as far back as 2007 he was declaring that he'd love to have his own show featuring "everything, all aspects of my life - all the drama, the intrigue, the sex, the romance, the work."
"I'm a shameless human being," he added. "I love The Osbournes and stuff like that - nothing is crazier than real life. The whole thing's sort of egotistical, I suppose. But I do find myself entertaining."
Watch this space: an open casting call is due to take place in New York within weeks to secure the rest of the cast, and filming is expected to begin in November.
