As Madonna launched her Material Girl clothing range at Macys in New York last night, she used the opportunity to reveal some juicy fashion plans she has in the pipeline.
The pop icon walked the pink carpet with teenage daughter Lourdes, who co-designed the Material Girl junior line with her mum, and the brands poster girl Taylor Momsen at last nights glitzy event to celebrate the first business venture between the singer and Iconix Brand Group.
But its what they have planned next that really caught our attention. Madonna told WWD that she has several new projects lined up aimed at adults, including a sportswear range and a collection of lingerie to be launched as separate brands by spring 2011.
But what can we expect from these new ranges? Will the sportswear line include items inspired by Madonnas skimpy pink leotard and baggy blue tracksuit in her video for the disco tinged Hung Up? And will the lingerie collection feature pointy conical bras like the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier version she wore in the 90s and her MTV-era white lace bodice? We dont know. Yet. Madonna was keeping tight lipped about the details last night, so well just have to wait and see.
