Lily Allen has been chosen to model for the next Chanel handbag campaign. The news comes as no surprise, following Allen's star turn at the Chanel ready-to-wear show in Paris last February, where she turned up in a candyfloss pink mini dress, with the highest of heels and a white leather handbag (all by Chanel, of course), as well a new, shorter haircut.
The 24-year-old pop star, who has just finished touring her new album, It's Not Me, It's You, in America, is a prolific Twitterer. A recent example of her micro blogs includes the post, "forgot to put Tobasco [sic] on my eggs this afternoon, much like yesterday when i forgot to put gravy on my roast dinner. muchos sad." There's no wonder Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, who will shoot the campaign, has said he chose her because he thinks "she's fun".
