It's been a long time coming - with small factors like a worldwide recession to take into consideration - but it seems that what is set to be one of the UK's biggest exports is about to land Stateside. Next week, on 2 April, Sir Philip Green will finally unveil the new Topshop store in New York. Located on Broadway at Broome Street, and set over four floors, the 25,000 sq foot space features raw brick walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and 32 changing rooms. It will house the labels' most directional lines, including Unique collection (as seen at London Fashion Week), the Kate Moss collection and capsule designer ranges by hip London designers like Jonathan Saunders and New York-based duo Preen. For all the celebrities who will no doubt be flocking to its doors, there is a special VIP suite situated on the third floor.
Speculation surrounds the grand opening celebrations on 1 April. Kate Moss is slated to attend a dinner hosted by Sir Philip and his wife at trendy restaurant Balthazar, with Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga and Santogold expected to perform. Topshop fans on this side of the pond, meanwhile, can follow updates on Tophsops' new blog. Visit topshop.com.
