Jonathan Saunders, the London-based Scottish designer who defected to New York a few seasons ago, has announced he will return to London Fashion Week next September. He joins a list of high profile brands including Pringle Of Scotland and Burberry who have opted to show here as part of what will be the British Fashion Council's 25th anniversary. Saunders, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, first launched his line in London in 2003 and was immediately lauded for his bold, vibrant prints, which have become his trademark. His show quickly became one of the most prestigious during London Fashion Week. He moved to New York in winter 2008, where his work received a more lukewarm response.
"I am absolutely delighted to be returning to show in London this September," said Saunders. "Showing in New York for the last few seasons has been an amazing experience for both me and the business. However London has always been my home and where I have my studio."
It was unclear at time of writing whether this decision by Saunders is a one-off or a permanent move.
