Rising fashion design star Holly Fulton has teamed up with luxury stationery brand Smythson to create a limited edition collection. The line, which includes deluxe diaries and notebooks, features Fultons illustrations on aqua-coloured goatskin leather with white silk lining.
The designer-turned-illustrator said the collaboration was a natural progression for her: Drawing is one of my guilty pleasures and I'll take any excuse to spend longer doing it! The range has been a logical extension of my design ethos, and my style is derived from a love of pop art and art deco with a twist of humour and borderline bad taste.
The limited edition Smythson range comes out later this year and may give fans of the designer a sneak preview of her hotly anticipated spring/summer 2011 womenswear collection.
She told us: My ladies for spring have holidays on their mind, what they do best is pouting, preening, cavorting, dressing to impress in statement jewels and generally behaving as any chic young thing would do. My inspiration for the new collection was Joan Collins circa 1962.
Fulton has been causing a stir in the fashion industry since she emerged a few years ago, winning the Swarovski Emerging Talent prize at the British Fashion Awards last year and scooping the Young Designer Of The Year award at the Scottish equivalent two years on the trot.
We cant wait to put the release of her new collection in our new luxe Fulton diaries!
Keep your eyes peeled for more details on the Smythson website.
