Following an acrimonious split from artistic adviser Lindsay Lohan back in February, Emanuel Ungaro is reportedly trying to snare British designer Giles Deacon to become its next designer.According to WWD the French label has been conducting a thorough talent search and, following the disastrous tenure of celebrity designer Lohan, the scathing reviews of her first collection last October and her subsequent departure, this time they are scouring the fashion world for their next big name appointment.
The rumour mill was sent into overdrive when Emanuel Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah and his management team were spotted having lunch on Friday with Deacon at Le Relais Plaza in Paris. Both parties were unavailable for comment, but it's believed that no designer has yet signed a contract with the fashion house and this is seen as a significant step in bringing Deacon to the fray and some credibility back to Ungaro.
