A smattering of the UK’s starriest personalities turned up at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards 2007 this week. Leicester Square’s glamorous Cirque club played host to the event, which honours the outstanding achievements of real-life people and celebrities, as voted for by Cosmo readers. Katie Price, Extras star Ashley Jensen, Leona Lewis and Tess Daly were among those accepting awards. Fashion highlights included Leona’s gold strapless cocktail dress by Karen Walker, and Holly Willoughby in a hot pink chiffon number by Sara Berman. Host Fearne Cotton summed up the event, saying, “All the nominations have been really inspiring, and certainly fearless! It is great for us to give them the acknowledgement they deserve at this national level.”

Uniqlo London launch party

If you don\'t already, you\'ll soon know Uniqlo.  Born in Tokyo (Uniqlo is Japan\'s No 1 clothing retailer) this clothing and accessory store is fast becoming a worldwide favourite thanks to its unfussy and super affordable designs. And its trendy, alternative aesthetic has bagged it some pretty cool friends. Uniqlo\'s current billboard representatives are Samantha Morton, Nicholas Hoult (from teen drama Skins) and Dizee Rascal.  And what do they all have in common?  They\'re all Londoners and as Uniqlo has just opened two mega stores on Oxford Street they seem to have a match made in heaven.  At the in-store launch party on Tuesday 6 November there was a London meets Tokyo party atmosphere with celebrity spots including Daisy Lowe on the decks, Alexa Chung, and Henry Holland.

Kelly Brook\'s New Look lingerie range

Kelly Brook,lingere New Look lingerie

Maybe it\'s because of her famously curvy frame, but somehow Kelly Brook knows just what women want when it comes to lingerie and swimwear. Indeed, her previous collections for New Look have been such sell-out hits, that her collaboration with the store continues this season with a new lingerie line. Comprising 16 pieces, highlights include underwear sets in black satin or shocking pink and cute prints in grey and white check or baby pink polka dots - the latter being Kelly\'s favourite. \"Glamorous, fun, but well-fitted, lingerie is my wardrobe essential,\" she said, adding that her designs will give \"a sparkle to your festive wardrobe\". Available in stores this week, with prices starting from £6, it\'ll not just add sparkle to your wardrobe, but sparks too.  On the subject of lingerie, make sure you check out Karen Millen\'s range, which launches online this week.

Armani lights up Tokyo

cate Blanchett,Giorgio Armani Devon Aoki and Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani\'s brand is an ever-expanding empire. As well as launching his first mobile phone in collaboration with Samsung later this month, he has been busy celebrating his 20th anniversary doing business in Tokyo with a series of glamorous events. Joined by Cate Blanchett, who is currently promoting her latest film Elizabeth: The Golden Age, he opened the Armani/Ginza Tower by switching on a dramatic exterior lighting system, illuminating the building through a signature motif of bamboo shoots adorned with golden leaves running from the ground to the 12th floor. The designer said that he hoped it would be seen \"as an important architectural addition to the extraordinary city of Tokyo\". A champagne cocktail party followed for over 1,000 guests, including Lady Helen Taylor and actress Deven Aoki. The only area Mr Armani hasn\'t conquered yet, it seems, is cyberspace - as yet, there is no e-commerce store. Watch this (cyber)space.

Habitat\'s designer wallpaper

For those of you wanting to make your house as fashionable as your wardrobe, Habitat has the answer. They\'ve commissioned fashion designers Christian Lacroix and Matthew Williamson, graffiti artist Bernie Reid, and Dutch industrial designer Marcel Wanders to create a series of artfully decorated wallpaper. Priced at £30 a roll, the designs vary from pretty flower patterns (Williamson), to cool skater spray-ons (Reid). \"I wanted to create something which would embody the work I do as a fashion designer,\" Williamson said in a statement, adding that, unlike the fickle changes of fashion, it was important to achieve \"a timeless quality. After all, you\'ll be living with it for quite some time hopefully!\"

Paul & Joe Sister, and Jennifer\'s jeans

Ever since Paul & Joe launched its diffusion line, Paul & Joe Sister, in 2006, we haven\'t been able to get enough of their friendly-priced jeans and dresses. Priced 30% lower than the original line, the younger sibling has proved such a success that a standalone boutique has just been opened on London\'s Kings Road.

Another reason to go shopping in that part of the world is denim store Trilogy. The jeans emporium has recently added the new Chelsea wash straight-leg jeans, as seen most recently on Jennifer Aniston.
