dvb sunglasses
Victoria Beckham may be succeeding in conquering the world of high fashion. Following much speculation, it has been confirmed that the LA-based Spice Girl is to star in next season\'s Marc Jacobs campaign, shot by Juergen Teller. Also, her dVb sunglasses, left, are currently available to buy exclusively in Harrods. There are only 10 pairs available to buy in the UK (they are also available at other stores worldwide) and have the name of the store they were bought from etched on the inside of one of the arms. Victoria has just added an acid wash in the skinny style to her jeans collection, going on sale exclusively at Harrods next week.

Two new design appointments are setting fashion tongues wagging. With Valentino planning to take his final bow as designer of his house in January, Alessandra Facchinetti, who this week announced her resignation as designer at Moncler, presented her first collection for Valentino in New York. In another new appointment, Colombian born-Brit Esteban Cortazar, who is only 23, has been chosen by French luxury fashion house Emanuel Ungaro as its new chief designer for womenswear. His first collection will be shown in February 2008.

V&A Golden Age of Couture exhibition
To compliment their Golden Age of Couture exhibition currently on show, the V&A is hosting a couture-themed event on 14 December. During the evening, which will take place at the museum, the Roja Dove Haute Pafumerie team will be giving mini consultations and the opportunity to sample original couture perfume (Roja Dove, "professeur de parfum" and founder of the Haute Parfumerie at Harrods, will also be giving a talk on the subject). Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a 1950s-style makeover and discover their personal colour range, or participate in fashion drawing workshops, all the while sipping on cocktails inspired by the 1940s and 50s, and listening to music from the same period. It\'s also a chance to catch a glimpse of the famous V&A Chrismas tree, which this year has been designed by Boudicca. Admission free.
Talk tickets: £7.50. Concessions available. To book call 0207 942 2211.

Chanel
Last night, December 6, our capital was host to Chanel\'s Maisons d\'Art collection unveiling at the Phillips de Pury rooms. A chic gathering of celebrities attended the "Paris-Londres" show including Lily Allen, Natalia Vodianova and Rinko Kikuchi. Unique to Chanel, the Maison d\'Art runs outside of the official fashion calendar and celebrates the specialist Parisian ateliers that have collaborated with the house for decades. The audience was not only treated to a Karl Lagerfeld visionary feast for the eyes but also one for the ears courtesy of model and folk singer Irina Lazareanu who sang with on-off boyfriend Sean Lennon (no not Pete Doherty...this time).
