Fashionable faces

Myla,lydia hearst,Lauren Hutton Myla

It\'s not every day a model over the age of 25 is featured in an ad campaign, so we think it\'s worth mentioning that Lauren Hutton, one of the faces of \'70s fashion and star of films like American Gigolo, has landed a contract with Spanish high street brand Mango. Titled We Love You, Lauren, the pictures show the blonde beauty modelling fashions for the catalogue from the autumn/winter line.

In other fashion campaign news, Lydia Hearst has been recruited as the face of luxury underwear label Myla. The American model and actress, who has a role in the second series of Gossip Girl, features in the series of photographs which show her in cheesecake poses reminiscent of 1950s pin-ups.

Punk bitching

vivienne,westwood Malcolm McLaren

Punk svengali Malcolm McLaren is worried that copies of t-shirts from Seditionaries, the label he formed with Vivienne Westwood in the \'70s, are being sold to various unsuspecting parties, reports Women\'s Wear Daily. Simon Easton, who is based in the UK, is believed to have sold £80,000 worth of so-called Seditionaries products to artist Damien Hirst, as well as to other customers on eBay. McLaren told Hirst himself. "I felt terrible, but they were fakes. I would never have thought 30 years ago when I was making this stuff on my kitchen table, that someone would want to copy it," he told the newspaper. The following day, a second report appeared in which Easton denied the charges, saying, "If you grew up in the punk era, you will know that Malcolm McLaren rewrites history on a daily basis - that\'s how he gets through life."

Helena Christensen, Viktor & Rolf and photographer Ellen von Unwerth are among the judges for the Triumph Inspiration Award, taking place on 31 July in Beijing. Launched this year, the competition is a global design initiative created by lingerie specialist Triumph International, challenging fashion students from design schools around the world to create a conceptual showpiece set based on the traditional bra and knickers set. The winner will not only pocket a cash prize, but also have their design put into production and sold in international Triumph stores.

Eli Tahari comes to the UK

erin wasson,Eli Tahari Eli Tahar campaign

Eli Tahari, the designer who has built a devoted following of female fans since opening his first store on New York\'s Madison Avenue in 1974, is finally coming to the UK. Renowned for his chic and sensuous style, the Elie Tahari collection is now available at Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. The Israeli-born designer and his wife and muse Rory, who is also creative director of the company, both believe that fitting samples on real women helps communicate their design ideas to their customers.  "My clothes are all about ease and elegance, I want women to feel sexy and stylish from morning to night," he said in a statement. The designer also co-founded the successful fashion label Theory in 1997 (selling it at a profit six years later), also sold at Selfridges.

Topshop next week launches Topshop illustrEIGHT, a collection of t-shirts designed by a group of artists. Drawing inspiration from DesignersBlock, an art collective whose concept is to exhibit their work in unlikely and often labyrinthine locations, and with an eclectic combined CV that includes being commissioned by Luella, PPQ and the Rolling Stones, the creative gang\'s exhibition will launch at Topshop\'s London and Manchester flagship stores on 3 August.

Mulberry\'s seaside-style fun

Mulberry, jonathan kelsey Polaroids from Mulberry\'s interactive window

Walk down Bond Street past the Mulberry store this week and you\'ll notice a crowd buzzing around the window. The reason? An interactive window, titled Mete Your Fate, to launch Jonathan Kelsey\'s shoe collection for the brand. Visitors can stick their faces through various cut-outs, and come away with a Polaroid picture. You may not be at Brighton pier, but that\'s no reason why you shouldn\'t have some seaside fun.
