Kate for Topshop: part 4

Kate Moss,Naomi Campbell,Kate Moss for Topshop Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss

 By Danielle Radojcin

Let it be in no doubt that Kate Moss is a marketing supreme. Her new Anita Pallenberg-esque fringe stealing all the weeks\' headlines, attention was neatly drawn to the fact that this week sees the launch of her fourth line, and Christmas collection, for Topshop. A dinner was hosted at Annabel\'s nightclub to celebrate the event, where guests, Naomi Campbell and Jade Jagger among them, were treated to a salon-style show of the collection, which includes a pewter floor-length halter-neck dress, a cape with black Victorian-style lace, and YSL-style tuxedo and cigarette pants suit.  Of particular note is a couture dress which Kate and Topshop have created with Swarovski worth £40,000. Kate will wear the dress to Fashion Rocks, after which it will be auctioned on Friday 18 October (visit www.topshop.com/katemoss  for details), with proceeds going to The Prince\'s Trust. Copies of the dress, which is a replica of the one she wore the night she met Johnny Depp - will be available from Kate\'s line at the Oxford Street store for £250 from Friday.

Stars come out in support of Matthew Williamson

Tuesday night saw the opening of the Matthew Williamson retrospective at London\'s Design Museum. Guests who turned up to raise a Veuve-Cliquot toast included Thandie Newton, Yasmin le Bon, Plum Sykes and Daisy de Villeneuve, as well as model Olivia Inge, who floated around the party in one of the designer\'s floor-length gowns. Honouring the ten years the British designer has been in business, the exhibition - which runs until 31st January -  includes two large, brightly-lit rooms featuring mannequins wearing examples of his work, as well as cabinets containing photographs, memorabilia and bits and pieces of inspiration the designer has amassed over the past decade.

Ray-Ban turns 70

Kirsten Dunst,ray ban,sunglasses Ray-Ban

Much as we - and Kirsten Dunst - love the Ray-Ban Wayfarer, the style enjoyed such a massive renaissance this past summer that we\'re starting to feel like the style could do with a little R&R. Luckily for us, the brand, which was founded in 1937 for the US Air Force, has come up with the remedy: to celebrate its 70th anniversary, a limited edition collection has been launched, comprising of the Aviator - another Ray-Ban classic - and the Outdoorsman. Only 300 pieces will be available in the UK with an exclusive availability at the recently launched Sunglass Hut concept store on Oxford Street. The two styles boast frames made of precious metals, titanium and 22K gold, as well as introducing (for all you sunglasses purists) the latest P3 (P-Cube) lenses, featuring a polarising filter, anti-glare coating and waterproof quality. Retailing at £295, each piece is unique with its own serial number and comes in a stylish boxed leather case.

Good enough to lick

shoe,agent provocateur Agent Provocateur

Shoes have been getting more and more fetishised of late, so it makes sense that Agent Provocateur, the original conveyor of kinky lingerie to the masses, has launched a shoe collection. Called ‘Pure Sex’, the A/W collection offers a selection of eight styles – all super-high, all shiny-shiny – created in collaboration with high street footwear brand Kurt Geiger. Agent Provocateur co-founder Serena Rees said in a statement that the result of their collaboration ‘is a collection of beautiful, sexy shoes of the finest quality to compliment our lingerie and other accessory products.’ If the names  Misty, Belle and Peep cast no doubt as to the nature of the shoes’ intentions, detailing such as black leather lacing, elasticated gussets and super-elevated arches will stir yearnings in even the most fetish-resistant shoe lovers.

Get the message

T-shirt,street style, music Katharine Hamnett Politically-motivated British designer Katharine Hamnett - famous for her slogan T-shirts when Henry Holland was still in nappies - has chosen members of the underground London music scene to front her SS08 campaign. There\'s nu-rave funkster Kesh (far left) of rap duo the Coconut Twins (catch them at their fun-filled gigs, where they wear an eclectic mix of early Neneh Cherry-esque garb, styled by the equally trendy designer Cassette Playa), making an army salute and wearing a T-shirt screaming ‘No more fashion victims\'; then there\'s Callum Johnston (left), frontman of up-and-coming British dub pop band Radar (go to their website www.radar.tv for info on their cool gigs and upcoming album), advising an ‘Education not missiles\' lesson. At least we know what to wear in order to catch the ridiculously gorgeous Johnston\'s attention at Radar\'s next gig...
