Nicole Richie
It\'s only three months since she gave birth to little Harlow, but Nicole Richie is not one to let a publicity opportunity pass her by. As well as selling the pictures of her first child to US magazine People (for a rumoured $1m), she is now said to be planning to design a line of maternity wear, as well as a children\'s line and signature fragrance, according to a report in Asian News. In a culture where any celebrity worth her fashion credentials has her own clothing line, Richie may be more qualified than most. Since dumping fashion stylist Rachel Zoe, the famously stylish Richie has proved she still has a knack for putting together an eye-catching look, and, like Kate Moss for Topshop or Chloe Sevigny who has designed a line for New York label Opening Ceremony, her reputation may just carry enough weight to make the collection fly. "My line will be about making women look and feel good at a really emotional time. It\'s about showing your best self, not your tired, worn-down self," she said. Danielle Radojcin

Comme des Garcons
Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Viktor & Rolf - the annual collaboration between Swedish high street colossus H&M and a designer of note is impressively long (and in inverse proportion, you could say, to the length of time the clothes manage to remain unsold on the rails). This autumn sees perhaps its biggest coup yet: Rei Kawakubo, revered designer of Comme des Garcons, will turn her hand to creating a clothing line, accessories and unisex fragrance for the brand. Founded in 1973, Comme des Garcons, based at Dover Street Market in London, has long been admired by the fashion intelligentsia for pushing the boundaries of design creativity. Kawakubo, who has been called "the sphinx of fashion" for her elusive approach to her work, said: "I have always been interested in the balance between creation and business. It is a dilemma, although for me creation has always been the first priority. It is a fascinating challenge to work with H&M since it is a chance to take the dilemma to its extreme and try to solve it." In other words, leopard-print kaftans (thank you, Mr Cavalli) won\'t be part of the equation. Danielle Radojcin

Karl Lagerfeld in Grand Theft Auto
Karl Lagerfeld may have turned his hand to photography, diet books and a line for H&M, but now this most fashionable of dilettantes is turning his hand to something quite unexpected (and, therefore, very Karl): appearing in the fourth instalment of video game Grand Theft Auto. Due for release at the end of April, players can roll through the game\'s Liberty City listening to him on the radio as he DJs for the game\'s The Studio station. How did this come about, you may ask? According to Women\'s Wear Daily, Daphne Guinness introduced him to executives at Rockstar Games, and the rest is gaming history. Although a world away from Grand Theft Auto\'s average user, he clearly felt confident enough to spin tunes for the game\'s famously un-PC ethos: "Music is part of the life of fashion, too. Through the famous sound stylist Michel Gaubert (who creates the soundtracks for many of the Paris fashion shows), I\'m very much ‘au courant\' with what\'s going on." Danielle Radojcin
